You can fight injustice by taking part in collective action. There are many ways to do this, and you will need to find the cause and method that works for you.
Trump and Israel's war on Iran means we are facing a GLOBAL FOOD CRISIS
One third of the fertiliser we need to grow food comes through the Hormuz strait. Without this, crop yields will plummet.
This will be super-charged by climate change and the strongest El Nino climate event for over a century.
45 million people worldwide could be forced into hunger and starvation – and food prices will skyrocket in the UK and globally.
The full impact of the months-long closure has not yet been felt in the UK, but it is coming.
Supermarkets put profit before people
Supermarkets always prioritise profits over people. The cost-of-living crisis makes this worse. Whenever a crisis hits, the most vulnerable are impacted hardest, whilst corporations profit.
Just look at COVID-19, when Tesco, Sainsbury's and Asda made combined profits of £3.2bn in 2021 – nearly double pre-pandemic levels.
What can you do?
Unite: Use, support and share info about initiatives like the Trussell Trust food bank, Cambridge Community Kitchen or local food hubs
Donate: Support those in the Global South facing food insecurity by giving to charities like Action Against Hunger, The Hunger Project or World Vision
Write: Ask your MP to support the public funding of food banks, a universal basic right to food and a public supermarket option like in Zoran Mamdani's New York
Join a union to work together with colleagues for workers' rights.

Anyone can support a strike - you don't have to be a member of a Union to support their strike.
The best way to support a strike is to go to a picket line:
